That WILL BE--Sunday, July 11th, 2010
We hear that bicycle use is on the increase. Well this is a race for YOU--for ALL of YOU. Professional and beginner alike. No money exchanges hands at this race. All ages welcome. Put only YOURSELF to the test and train for this once-a-year event. Are there any bicycle riders up to the challenge? Possibly not? But if you just happen to be satisfied with your own effort and maybe you aren't traveling the earth with your entrance in top Ironman or regular triathlons, try our homespun race. You are invited to Ripon, July 11th, 2010. (And I can give you dates for the next decade as well.)

Ripon, WI _______________________________________ (Reed in 1894) (Click to enlarge drawing)
In honor of Ripon and the city's bicycle hero of over a century ago, Louis Reed, a time trial bicycle race will be held in Ripon, Sunday July 11, 2010 at 8:15 A.M. in Barlow Park (South City Limit). Louis Reed held three state bicycle records during the first national bicycle craze before the automobile in the 1890s and Ripon twice hosted the Wisconsin Championship Races. Our race is ten miles and has proven challenging for all ages.
The Louis Reed Time Trial is truly "the race for everybody, young and old, and of all abilities and equipment." A cyclist races only himself against the clock. As in all previous years, there is no charge for the Louis Reed Time Trial and registration is done at the event. All ages are welcome.
The Time Trial Race will begin at the site of the 1893-94 races and follow a circular course of ten miles along the following roads: County E to Watson Road, then over to Radio Road and back to Barlow Park.
If you have never been in a race before, our informal race will give you a new perspective to your training.
