Actually, there should "be a bicycle for everybody"--every body type and everybody's personal style and fitness. That is what is wonderful about bicycling. WHY NOT TRY A TEN MILE CAREFULLY TIMED "RACE" WHERE YOU COMPETE ONLY WITH YOURSELF? No "mass starting" or dangerous packs. Each rider is spaced and sent off into the countryside THE SECOND SUNDAY IN JULY---OR THIS YEAR--2015---the formula puts the date at SUNDAY, JULY 12, 2015. If you have switched to an offroad bike and can ride ten miles----you are welcome with your Mountain Bike----you are only racing your own time.
